ntpclient doesn't start automatically after reboot

Reported by: tim_freedom@… Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Kamikaze 7.07
Component: packages Version:
Keywords: ntpclient Cc:

Description

I'm using 7.07 and have ntpclient installed. After a reboot my clock continues
to note that I'm in year 1999 and I have to hand-run /etc/hotplug.d/10-ntpclient
which fixes everything.

  • Shouldn't this be done automatically ?
  • Should there be a link in /etc/init.d to the ntpclient in /etc/hotplug.d ?
  • Are the hotplug events being properly handled ?

Do please make sure this is fixed as openvpn will NOT run without a properly
set (and correct) clock.

Thanks...
