Description

Hello,
since kernel 4.1 the max txpower of TP-Link WR703n is limitted to 18dBm. With 3.18 Kernel it was 20dBm.
Is that a bug/can that be patched or a new limit in driver?

you did not say for which regulatory country - probably the limitation is because the rules have changed for that country

see https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/developers/regulatory/wireless-regdb

standard power atheros devices always have 18dBm limit, probably the driver never showed the actual value until 4.1
