Description

I'm struggling getting the newest trunk release (wireless) to work on my Netgear WNR834Bv2.

The only version I got wireless working was the precompiled release of attitude_adjustment. It seems to be broken since then 12.09.

I compiled a trunk version where i stripped unneeded components (GUI, ...) as this device is limited in ressources (the original precompiled build crashes often because of lack of ram). Here is the dmesg output:

It seems the b43 driver misinterprets the chipset as ac compatible? I really have no idea on how to fix this.

Maybe someone with deeper knowledge can shed some light on this.

Your wifi card is detected as a 5GHz only card which seams to be wrong. It looks like Netgear programmed the device wrong.

Can you please post the content of the nvram "nvram show" (you should remove any passwords from the output before)

I'm trying to apply your patch to trunk but can't succeed. I've tried to put it in nearly every patch directory I've found, I've also tried to modify the files your patch refers to directly (the ones in the build_dir/... etc. right?) but wireless is still detected incorrect :-(

Maybe you can give me a short hint on how to apply the patch right?

You can apply this changes manually by editing b43/main.c:
vim build_dir/target-*/linux-*/compat-wireless-*/drivers/net/wireless/b43/main.c

You can apply this changes manually by editing b43/main.c:

I thought I've done it exactly that way yesterday but it didn't work. Seems it was my bad as I've tried it again this morning and it worked straight away. Thanks again helped me a lot. Keep up the great work.
