#19632 new defect

luci-app-ddns rejects multiple DNS on one line

Description

I had been running luci-app-ddns 0.10.0-1 under Backfire, this version allowed the hostname field to contain multiple hostnames separated by a semicolon (example.com;example2.com). When attempting to set this up in luci-app-ddns 2.2.2-1, I could enter this in the hostname field, but when I save I receive an error that the hostname is invalid.

I can certainly set up multiple entries, but as this worked previously I am reporting it as a bug. My provider, dnsexit.com, recommends having multiple domains submitted this way, rather than separate entries.

Workaround it to edit the /etc/ddns file directly, but it would be nice if the luci page would allow what it thinks is an invalid hostname to be saved anyway.

I looked into the sources of ddns-scripts 1.x running behind the luci-app-ddns.
The field "hostname" (environment variable $domain) is used inside nslookup to get the current IP registered on the web. nslookup did not allow to use a comma/semicolon separated list.
Thats the reason why there is a validate on the field hostname in new luci-app-ddns.
Are you running a different backend behind luci-app-ddns ?
Please send me a copy of your /etc/config/ddns file. (If you prefer per direct mail)
