Same problem here.
Same version, TP-Link TL-WR842ND.
With Barrier Breaker everything ok.

comment:2 Changed 3 years ago by anonymous

Yes the same problem.
With barrier_breaker 14.07 it works. But not with Chaos Calmer 15.05 RC1 or snapshots.
Use hide.me VPN

Using the snapshot from today morning, I hit the same problem, however I could solve it:

You are missing one of the following packages (I did not try which one finally made the trick, but I guess the last one):

  • gre
  • kmod-gre
  • kmod-gre6
  • kmod-nf-nathelper-extra

The message LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests indicates missing gre support or dropped packages of this kind.

Hey Thanks! I just installed the package

  • kmod-nf-nathelper-extra

and it works. Problem solved!

I can confirm this, installing above mentioned packages is needed in order to make pptp vpn work

Thanks. I set up pptp vpn client in BarrierBreaker 14.07, only need these commands:
opkg update
opkg install ppp-mod-pptp
but in Chaos Calmer, also need this:
opkg install kmod-nf-nathelper-extra

Hey !

I am having the same issue too. But i can't find the kmod-nf-nathelper-extra package to solve it.

I'm using a TP-Link Archer C5 v1.
On BB 14.07 the PPTP connection worked with no issues.
After Updating to CC 15.05 (Stable Release Version) the PPTP connection broke with "LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests" error.

After googeling the error message i found this Ticket. Unfortunately i can't find the "kmod-nf-nathelper-extra" package.

This is my opkg.conf:
dest root /
dest ram /tmp
lists_dir ext /var/opkg-lists
option overlay_root /overlay

src/gz chaos_calmer_luci http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/ar71xx/generic/packages/luci
src/gz chaos_calmer_packages http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/ar71xx/generic/packages/packages

src/gz chaos_calmer_management http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/ar71xx/generic/packages/management
option check_signature 1

Has the package been removed in the Chaos Calmer release version? How can i get it?
Please help. :-)

Thank you.

[SOLVED]
I just did another update from my package list and the kmod-nf-nathelper-extra package was found. This is very strange since obviously i have updated the package list before...
PPTP is working now. :-)

But how make normal routing?
In one case - all trafic via pptp ?
In other case - only for some subnet routing.
Thanks.
