#19324 new defect

netifd changed behavior / loopback / dhcp

Reported by: bittorf@… Owned by: developers
Priority: highest Milestone:
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

we have since a long time a dhcp-server in loopback active:

dhcp.@host[0]=host
dhcp.@host[0].ip='127.0.0.2'
dhcp.@host[0].mac='00:00:00:00:00:00'
dhcp.@host[0].name='lo-alias'
dhcp.@dhcp[0]=dhcp
dhcp.@dhcp[0].interface='loopback'
dhcp.@dhcp[0].start='2'
dhcp.@dhcp[0].limit='2'
dhcp.@dhcp[0].leasetime='1h'
dhcp.@dhcp[0].force='1'
dhcp.@dhcp[0].ignore='0'

this does not work anymore, dnsmasq simply ignores the entry.
normally with r44945 i can see this in the log, when dnsmasq starts up:

daemon.info dnsmasq-dhcp[3159]: DHCP, IP range 127.0.0.2 -- 127.0.0.3, lease time 1h

this breaks here and additionally the system gets very slow and unresponsive, procd and netifd will crash and so on...strange

with newer versions, e.g. r44972 and r45058 is does not work.
i will mark this as priority highest because it looks very strange and maybe affects more configs...
