#18503 new defect

wpa_supplicant (wpad) does not start on boot r39247

Reported by: rn_dl Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Keywords: wpad boot start autostart wpa_supplicant Cc:

Description

I am using a ramips and ar71xx. wpa_supplicant works good after

/etc/init.d/wpa start

I configured it to start on boot using

/etc/init.d/wpa enable

and the startup script is now present on /etc/rc.d.
However no wpa_supplicant process is running after boot (confirmed with ps).

Is this an init script that you wrote yourself? I don't see it in OpenWrt. Are you trying to bypass /etc/config/wireless?

Replying to nbd:

Yes, I wrote it by myself.
No, I am trying bypass 802.1X authentication on the WAN.

/etc/init.d/wpa:

#!/bin/sh /etc/rc.common
# Example script
# Copyright (C) 2007 OpenWrt.org
START=99

start() {
	wpa_supplicant -D wired -i eth0.2 -c /etc/config/wpa.conf &
}

/etc/config/wpa.conf

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=root
ap_scan=0
network={
	key_mgmt=IEEE8021X
	eap=PEAP
	pairwise=CCMP TKIP
	identity="uXXXXXX"
	anonymous_identity="uXXXXXX"
	password="PASSWORD"
	phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"
	priority=2
}

Permissions for /etc/init.d/wpa correct - 755
wpa_supplicant works good. Autostart doesn't work, but /etc/rc.d/S99wpa creating.
