Description

I have Barrier Breaker stable installed on TP-Link WR1043ND v1. I also have usb hub with pendrive (extroot) and hp printer connected to it.

When I power the printer on, it is not recognized by OpenWRT. Here's the relevant dmesg output:

[ 220.960000] usb 1-1.1.3: reset high-speed USB device number 8 using ehci-platform
[ 910.440000] usb 1-1.1.3: USB disconnect, device number 8

[ 942.270000] usb 1-1.1.3: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/all
[ 942.270000] usb 1-1.1.3: can't read configurations, error -145
[ 942.280000] hub 1-1.1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3

Howerer, if I reboot the router while the printer is on, it is recognized everytime during startup. This leads me to believe this is a software issue.

I've found many other posts with people having problems with ehci failing to enumerate usb devices. Usual response is to check hub/cables/hardware, but I am quite sure the problem is with software. I've tried different hubs and cables, printer always works if it's on during router startup and never works if it's turned on when router is active.

This isn't working on Chaos Calmer either. My hardware: TP-Link WR2543ND and DYMO LabelWriter 450 in combination with p910nd.
