Description

I build openwrt from trunk and i can't get it working on Mikrotik rb951ui-2hnd either from ram o nand boot, its enter into a boot loop.

Using the openwrt trunk rev 39392 and patch from here: <http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/mikrotik/rb951ui> its work from ram boot, but not from nand boot (boot loop).

In both cases the leds is not working only the 5 port led with red light.

rb951ui-2hnd do not have external serial access, and do not have pins on this board for it.

I try with rb751ui and rb751G. Same problem.

Ok people please read this:

  • Mikrotik rb951ui new 3.19 bootloader works perfectly on openwrt.

No more bootloop or boot problems!

  • Thank you Mikrotik! Good Job!

PD: I compiled Openwrt Trunk doing:

root@openwrt:~# svn co svn://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/trunk/

This command compiled CHAOS CALMER (Bleeding Edge, r43239) and it runs perfectly on mikrotik rb951ui

Also Luci works awesome!

Cheers!

Hello,
thank for info.

I installed about 10 pcs rb951ui - work wery well.
Unfortunately I found some devices which not work after DHCP sent openwrt-ar71xx-mikrotik-vmlinux-initramfs.elf file to RAM.

Devices which mac address start with : 4c:5e:0c:53:... work fine.

Devices which mac address start with : 4c:5e:0c:6d:... has problem running, here is result from ping:

Same problem here.
Devices which mac address 4c:5e:0c:6e:XX:XX do no anwer to ping/telnet. I tried different RouterOS versions (5.26, 6.1, 6.23) with different bootloader/firmware versions (3.08, 3.19 ...) - no result, OpenWRT images do not boot from tftp. (In fact with the v.3.08 bootloader the RouterOS does not boot in normal mode as well).

Old devices works fine with the same .elf file.

Any suggestion on this?.. Really hope for a solution to be found here.

There is a patch for rb951g https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/18433#comment:11
Try it on rb951ui, and if it works, applying that patch in current trunk will close two tickets.
