Description
Hi,
Recently I've been testing my Huawei E367 QMI protocol modem using uqmi. On desktop Linux with ModemManager the connection is stable, but with OpenWrt on my ar71xx DLink router the connection reliably crashes after a few dhcp renewals. About four hours into a successful qmi protocol connections I get a kernel NETDEV watchdog timeout on wwan0 (see attached kernel log). See attached usb log for further device USB info.
At first I suspected the qmi_wwan kernel module, so I tried both kernel 3.10.49 and 3.14.16 (Desktop is on 3.15.5) with the same result. Next I left 'cat /dev/ttyUSB1' running continuously to report signal strength, and noticed the qmi_wwan link became stable!
Attached is a script cronjob periodically (30 minutes) reading from ttyUSB1, which I now use to keep ttyUSB1 serviced and qmi_wwan from stalling.
Could this be a firmware bug of some kind?
