iwinfo scanlist does not work.

Description

Below is a session with iwinfo.so with Lua interpreter.

root@OpenWrt:/# lua
Lua 5.1.5  Copyright (C) 1994-2012 Lua.org, PUC-Rio (double int32)
> require "iwinfo"
iw = iwinfo["nl80211"]
sl = iw.scanlist("wlan0")
> > Segmentation fault
root@OpenWrt:/# 

Below is part of the endless output of iwinfo command line tool.

And the Scan function in the LuCI wireless section also did not work.

I am also experiencing this behavior as well, on Asus RT-N13U running BARRIER BREAKER (Bleeding Edge, r41808).

The command iwinfo wlan0 scan terminates with a segmentation fault, and there are no other messages present in dmesg or logread regarding the fault.

Looks like r41830 fixed this bug. iwinfo wlan0 scan no longer segfaults.

Yes, I can also confirm that scanlist function of iwinfo command line tool and iwinfo.so Lua module now work again. So this ticket can be closed I think. Thanks :)

I checked the commit log of r41826 and wondered if the failure of SIOCSIFHWADDR will be fixed for Ralink MT7620A. It cannot be changed even with ifconfig tmp.wlan0 down && ifconfig tmp.wlan0 hw ether xx:xx

as of r42014, scans on AP mode interfaces are now supported without creating a temporary interface.
