It's been explained both on the forums (down) and mailing list, server(s?) has hardware issues. They're waiting for new hardware. Hardware doesn't magically appear from tickets.

comment:16 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

still down

comment:17 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

it was up for most part of the day today, but is now down again

comment:18 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

move to EC2 and stop buying hardware?

comment:19 Changed 2 years ago by jow

Are you volunteering to pay for EC2 ?

comment:20 Changed 2 years ago by francisg@…

i volunteer for hardware cost, how much is it ?

EC2 sounds expensive if you guys already have COLO, i'm down to contribute to the hardware

anyway, how big is the downloads.openwrt.org site anyway?

i'd be happy to have it mirror via RSYNC/HTTP or just contact the usual suspects (there's tons of providers that would mirror it much like they already do other software in many countries)

makes sense not waste time/money on hardware if we can get http/rsync mirror around the world

also, there's a guy working at cloudflare right now that is a HUGE fan of openwrt :D *wink* *wink*

comment:21 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

like others here I also demand my money back.. oh wait

comment:22 Changed 2 years ago by openwrt_router

Hello, its still down! PLEASE FIX!!!

comment:23 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

Digital ocean is $5 per month, that as others point out I suspect free mirroring is available from various location.

comment:24 Changed 2 years ago by ciresnave@…

...and it's down again. I've got $20 toward better servers and/or more reliable hosting. I'm pretty sure we could get a few thousand other people to do the same.

comment:25 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

We need at least of 700GB or storage space and 2TB+ transfer per month, that would be more like 640 Eur at Digital Ocean. Similar prices for EC2.

comment:26 Changed 2 years ago by francisg@…

HI,

right now I pay 29 EUR for a 2x3TB box with 32GB of ram and 5TB traffic, im willing to give it to openwrt

if anyone wants to split the cost, let me know, i dont mind paying these 30 euros but would be nice to get like 30 people to pay 1 euro or whatever

anyway, WHO do i contact to make this happen ? as in, how do i give root on this box to, etc ?

Thank you!

my email is francisg AT fnop DOT net please contact me ASAP

it makes no sense such an important project as openwrt to suffer cause of 30 euros of server lolol

(btw the server is in hetzner)
