#16353 new defect

MAC with leading 0 in octet displayed incorrectly

Reported by: pcbbc Owned by: developers
Priority: lowest Milestone: Bugs Paradise
Component: other Version: Attitude Adjustment 12.09 Beta
Keywords: MAC leading zero octet Cc:

For example, MAC for TP-Link TL-WR740N/ND v4 is 64:70:02:xx:xx:xx
(Note Last 3 octets have been intentionally obscured)
Freshly flashed from stock firmware with OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment 12.09-beta / LuCI Trunk (trunk+svn9220)

However in LuCI on the Network, Interfaces, Interfaces Overview page this displays as:
MAC-Address: 64:70:2:xx:xx:xx
Not missing leading zero on third octet.

The MAC also appears with a missing zero on the Advance Settings, Override MAC address in setup, and is greyed out. If I correct the MAC address there by retyping with the extra zero inserted, and save and apply, then the MAC address appears correctly and is no longer greyed out.

However it is still shown incorrectly on the Network, Interfaces, Interfaces Overview page.

  • Milestone changed from Attitude Adjustment 12.09 to Bugs Paradise
  • Priority changed from normal to lowest

There is no requirement to have leading zeroes in the MAC, this is merely a cosmetic issue.
