#1590 closed enhancement (invalid)

wifi interface not dynamicaly assigned in NAS startup script -> WPA wifi doesn't work in routed wifi mode

Reported by: el.goretto@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: 0.9/rc6
Component: base system Version:
Keywords: bridge, wlan, routed wifi, interface Cc:

When switching from bridged wifi/lan to routed wifi mode (on a WRT54GL via webif2/X-wrt interface), the wifi interface become br1 instead of br0, but in the script /etc/init.d/S41wpa statically assign it to br0:

brctl show 2>&- | grep "${real_ifname}" >&- 2>&- && ifname=br0

Maybe something like that would do it (it's not pretty, I know ):

ifname=`brctl show 2>&- | grep "eth1" 2>&- 2>&- | awk '{print $1}'`

Btw, thank you for your work. :)

please use the X-Wrt bugtracking system for reporting errors concening the X-Wrt webif2.
Both the wlan splitting and the nas initscript were fixed in the recent X-Wrt.
Your solution would not work for other routers because they use different eth?s.

The nas init script is wrong because the bridge is hardcoded.
