#15781 new defect

missing /proc/net/snmp

Reported by: walter Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: proc net snmp missing Cc:

Description

Hey guys,

after upgrading from stable attitude adjustment (12.09) to barrier breaker (trunk) I am missing /proc/net/snmp. There is a /proc/net/snmp6 but that seems to be just for ipv6.

Where from do I get this /proc/net/snmp back? Is it in a normal package or a kmod-package? I already googled this, but I did not get any information to solve my problem.

Thanks a lot and greetings
walter

this is due to 902-debloat_proc.patch (target/linux/generic/patches-<version>/902-debloat_proc.patch

it removes /proc/net/snmp, /proc/net/netstat and /proc/net/sockstat (see net/ipv4/proc.c)

unfortunately, this breaks netstat -s

Oh, thanks for this information.

And now the only way to get it back is to compile openwrt on my own without this 902-debloat_proc patch?

greets
walter

I am new to OpenWrt. Even I am facing this problem.
Can somebody please tell me how to build openwrt without a specific patch?
