#15695 closed defect (fixed)

WDS client broken in trunk

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Hardware is two tp-link wr-4300.

With AA(12.09.1) WDS AP and WDS Client works fine together.

BB(r40569) WDS AP and AA(12.09.1) WDS Client also works normally.

But with BB(r40569) on both WDS AP and WDS Client, the client will eventually loose connection to the AP, usually within 12 hours, sometimes in less then 1 hour. In luci web-gui the encryption used for the WDS link will also always display "-" instead of the usual "WPA2 PSK (CCMP)".

The devices will remain assoicated but apparently unable to pass any traffic (and no relevant logs).

I've tried fresh configurations/installs to weed out any configuration issues, but no luck.

Replying to anonymous:

r40572 on WDS AP and WDS Client didn't solve the issue for me.

Any suggestions for older revision to test?

Tested it with r40526 on the wds client. I doesn't crash but becomes very slow and the ping is between 5ms-15ms.

Tested it with r39161 on the wds client runs very stable with HT20 and HT40

I'm the one who made the initial ticket.

For me r40572 on both WDS-AP and WDS-Client has kept the link up for a few days now without hickups, still not sure if I'm just lucky or if it's really fixed. The problem always was very intermittent after all.

The only problem still remaining is that the display for encryption used still shows "-" in luci or "unknown" in console instead of the usual "WPA2 PSK (CCMP)". But I guess this might be just cosmetical.

Many days later and still no drop outs with r40572. Not sure about the other commenters but as far as I'm concerned this defect is fixed and the ticket can be closed.
