and
config wifi-iface

option device radio0
option network invite
option mode mesh
option mesh_id testmesh
option key passwordtest

it's not working (meshd not starting)(it was working before)

I can confirm it is not fixed in trunk yet. There is a # todo: authsae comment in https://dev.openwrt.org/browser/trunk/package/kernel/mac80211/files/lib/netifd/wireless/mac80211.sh.

I hacked a dirty fix for my mesh, but I haven't figured out how to properly load plugins (the /lib/wifi/authsae.sh script, but fixed for the new config functions) in the new mac80211.sh. So I couldn't prepare an official patch to fix this problem yet...

Please change the target of this bug to Netifd Implementation, thanks.

I've just submitted this patch: http://patchwork.openwrt.org/patch/5149/

It's working in my test mesh.

it's still broken on CHAOS CALMER (15.05, r46767) and at the time of writing the patch linked above is also unreachable... :/

I think that today one should use the wpa_supplicant from the package wpad-mesh instead of authsae to do 802.11s encrypted mesh.

FTR, i could set up the mesh without encryption, but then when i enabled encryption, the nodes won't associate anymore.
