kmod-bridge / IGMP Snooping

Reported by: oxinarf Owned by: developers
Priority: low Milestone:
Component: kernel Version: Trunk

  • Commit r29744 disables bridge IGMP snooping by default, but since bridge is built-in and build bot builds all packages (and kmod-bridge puts IGMP_SNOOPING to y) all official downloads have IGMP_SNOOPING enabled. This doesn't seem to be a problem because it just adds more code and IGMP snooping is disabled by default by the kernel (and also by netifd - this isn't documented in the wiki and there are many options that netifd knows for bridges that aren't in the wiki).

P.S.: While dealing with IGMP Snooping I found that source:trunk/target/linux/ar71xx/files/drivers/net/ethernet/atheros/ag71xx/ag71xx_ar7240.c has a IGMP Snooping bit that doesn't seem to be used anywhere. Is there a reason to this? It would be really useful to have IGMP Snooping in the switch.
