#14268 new defect

odhcp6c sometimes sets address with zero host part

Reported by: mschiffer@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: base system Version: Attitude Adjustment 12.09
Keywords: Cc:

Description

odhcp6c in the current Attitude Adjustment branch (I didn't test trunk) sometimes configures IP addresses with a zero host part in our network (which uses RA only, no DHCPv6).

Example:
br-client has MAC address b0:48:7a:cb:27:40
Router advertises prefix fdef:ffc0:3dd7::/64

Expected behavour: br-client gets address fdef:ffc0:3dd7:0:b248:7aff:fecb:2740/64
Actual behavour: br-client gets address fdef:ffc0:3dd7::/64

Config section from /etc/config/network:

config interface 'client'
        option ifname 'eth0 bat0'
        option type 'bridge'
        option proto 'dhcpv6'
        option reqprefix 'no'
        option peerdns '0'
        option macaddr 'b0:48:7a:cb:27:40'

OK I have a workaround scheduled in the odhcp6c repository. I will test and push it at some point later.
