Description

Unable to install some kmods like:

I confirm this issue on ar71xx trunk snapshots, it looks like after installing kmod-fs-ext4 and the dependencies, the modules aren't loaded in the correct order. Manually insmod-ing the modules in the correct order (e.g scsi_mod then sd_mod / crc16 then ext4) works. modprobe should handle the dependencies but I didn't test it.

I found the Problem(s)

There are missing Scripts

Example

kmod-lib-crc16

should be install a script in /etc/modules.d called 20-lib-crc16 <-- but it's missing

It seems that it is still broken for some packages.
I am using r38545 on wndr3700 and i'm still unable to load some modules, for example:

To be honest i don't need those ipset kernel modules at the moment, i'm trying to say that the kmod loading is not working properly.

I'm having the same issue with a Buffalo WZR-HP-G450H running trunk ar71xx downloaded yesterday. Inserting the module dependencies manually works; so does rebooting. This breakage is annoying though.

Problem still exist in BarrierBreaker 14.07-rc3. Tested on TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1.
Module crc16 is not loaded automatically because the file /etc/modules.d/20-lib-crc16 does not exist.
Same with scsi_mod module. It has to be loaded before sd_mod /etc/modules.d/40-scsi-core.

insmod crc16
opkg install kmod-scsi-core # this line will fail to insert sd_mod
insmod scsi_mod # need to insert this manually
insmod sd_mod # then insert this again
opkg install kmod-usb-storage
opkg install kmod-fs-ext4
opkg install block-mount
sync
# Then plug in a USB drive with a ext4 partition and do a power off/on (i.e. hard) reboot to see the drive is recognized.
