Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: response-needed Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Attitude Adjustment 12.09

Description

Mounting ext2, ext3, ext4 fs on a usb-stick failed:
"mount: mounting /dev/sda1 on /mnt/qqq failed: No such device"
--> no dmesg error or output
Trying /etc/config/fstab
"config mount
option target /mnt/qqq
option device /dev/sda1

option options rw,sync
option enabled 1
option enabled_fsck 0"
--> dmesg: "ext4: Unknown symbol crc16 (err 0)"

Using: "ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT (Attitude Adjustment, r35298)"

I've seen patch # 6949 ([PATCH] block-extroot and ext4 fs).
May I use this patch?

Thanks for help und best regards,

Did you mix a custom build with packages from downloads.openwrt.org? Was this your own build or did you download a release binary?

Replying to jow:

Reboot and it should work properly.

Yes well I just realized that doing "insmod crc16" does the trick without rebooting, thank you very much
