6relayd: feature to add router preference

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: cyrus
Priority: normal Milestone: Attitude Adjustment 12.09.1
Component: packages Version: Attitude Adjustment 12.09
Keywords: 6relayd Cc: cyrus@…

Description

The radvd package has "AdvDefaultPreference" configuration preference to set route preferences to low/medium/high. This is useful when more than 1 prefix is advertised, the preferred prefix can be set to higher priority.

With 6relayd, all prefixes' route preferences are advertised as "medium". It'll nice to have the option to configure preference priority.

I think you are confusing a few things here.

AdvDefaultPreference is a per-router not a per-prefix value and has an effect on the routing metric of the default route announced by the router.

There is a preference value for individual route info-attributes as well but that does only affect destination routes but not address prefixes where no preference value exists.

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from assigned to closed

Also r36922 and r36923 add support to modify the AdvDefaultPreference for the default route and all route information attributes globally (but not individually).
See http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/6relayd for configuration details.
