ar71xx Wifi not working on Linksys WRT-160NL

Reported by: HuTPaT <hyena_bg@…> Owned by: developers
Priority: highest Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Router: Linksys WRT160NL
Firmware: Openwrt BARRIER BREAKER (Bleeding Edge, r36467)

Can not get wireless to work (worked with old builds)

root@OpenWrt:~# iw wlan0 info
nl80211 not found.

I thinlk there is a type mistake, but it is just a supposition.
can not generate wireless config file:

root@OpenWrt:~# wifi detect > /etc/config/wireless
root@OpenWrt:~#

My dmesg:

Also applies to TP-Link TL-WR1043ND, probably something wrong with atheros 9k wireless.

comment:2 Changed 5 years ago by easisee@…

Mine ar71xx wifi doesn't work, too, using snapshot r36467.
It seems that all kmod related to wireless are missing (e.g. kmod-mac80211). They are neither included in the factory.bin nor available from opkg.

Fixed in r36468, but it will take a bit until snapshots containing the fix are built.
