iiNet Budii support

Reported by: intelminer@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

http://www.iinet.net.au/about/mediacentre/budii/index.html

This is an extremely powerful device, with a ton of expandability, the hardware seems to be as follows

CPU: Broadcom BCM63xx

NIC: BCM53128

Wi-Fi (5Ghz) Celeno Ralink CL1830

Wi-Fi (2.4Ghz) Unknown

NAND: H27U1G8F2BTR-BC

RAM: NT5TU64M16-AC (64MB)

The device was released with the full 2.6.30 source for it, plus all related utilities that run on the device (Telnet, SSH etc)

I've created a mirror with

  • OEM binary firmware images
  • source code
  • patch diffs against the devices 2.6.30 kernel and a kernel.org 2.6.30 kernel

Beyond this, the device appears to run the CFE bootloader, though I have yet to JTAG it.

I've asked the OEM (iiNet) if they can provide the Telnet password. iiNet refused it citing "security reasons"

I'll update this thread as I progress

Whoops. Formatting broke on my post

http://intelminer.com/Budii contains the relevant files, as well as (cellphone) pictures of the various chips and headers on the device
