Poor performance of trunk on a tp-link wr740n v2.4

Description

Hello, just compiled and tested trunk on a old tp-link wr740n hw v2.4 and i see very poor wireless performance.
I tested a thinkpad x61 with a 3945abg intel card and on a nexus 7 tablet, same results, ~300 Kbit/sec download and ~200 Kbit/sec upload. Stability seems okay.

root@wr740n:~# cat /etc/config/wireless
config wifi-device radio0

option type mac80211
option channel 6
option hwmode 11ng
option path 'pci0000:00/0000:00:00.0'
option htmode HT20
list ht_capab SHORT-GI-40
list ht_capab TX-STBC
list ht_capab RX-STBC1
list ht_capab DSSS_CCK-40
# REMOVE THIS LINE TO ENABLE WIFI:
option disabled 0

config wifi-iface

option device radio0
option network lan
option mode ap
option ssid wr740n
option encryption none

root@wr740n:~# dmesg | grep phy0

please show me the output of:

cat /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy*/netdev:*/stations/*/rc_stats
cat /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy*/ath9k/xmit
cat /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy*/ath9k/reset

while making some traffic with your client.

The wifi statistics look perfect to me. Are you sure you didn't accidentally enable QoS, or there's something wrong going on with speedtest.net?

well, just tried other mirrors of speedtest.net, none came with more than 1.5 Mbit/sec..
same on www.speed.io
i'm using a thinkpad with crunchbang linux (debian based) no QoS ..
tried direct http download of several gentoo iso mirrors, they came from 1 Mbit/sec up to 50 Kbit/sec..
tried on the tablet aswell, same thing..

How is the performance if you connect one of your devices to a LAN port of the router?

used to be awesome ~ 90 Mbit/sec but i think i tracked down the problem, i have installed the luci-qos package but even if the checkbox on enable wasnt checked seems like it had a htb rule for 1024 Kbit/sec on WAN...

sorry for the ticket noise, maybe the maintainer can take a look on the package to correct the problem..

thanks for the wireless related help !
