Description

Even with good signal strength I only ever get MCS 0 rates on an ibss type interface.

The other routers (TL-wr741nd's) in the ibss network are running 10.03.1 HT20 and get rates up 60Mbps.

I don't have exactly the same hardware to test on, but observed a similar problem using BB. I created a 3 node ibss network: 1 ubnt-nano-m2 (ar71xx), one ubnt2 (atheros) and a laptop with an Intel chip set.

Both when creating the interfaces manually using is and when using the openwrt config files the ar71xx <-> atheros link is always 1mbps whereas the ar71xx <-> laptop and atheros <-> laptop links both use higher rates even when the signal strength of the links are lower.

I also tried fixing basic_rates to only 11mbps. When doing this, regardless of signal strength the working links only ever connect at 11mbps, whereas the connection between the two openwrt routers still stayed at 1mbps.

I saw the same behaviour between two Ubiquity Nanostation Loco M's with Barrier Braker. Both Nanostations still connected at higher rates to other BB nodes around them.

Upgrading to trunk solved this for me. Please close this ticket (seems like I'm unable to).
