Priority: high Milestone: Chaos Calmer 15.05

Description

Hi,

I'm in Italy, where it's possible to use channel 12 and 13. Unfortunately I'm not able to set them.

It seems all ok in dmesg

But luci displays only first 11 channels

root@OpenWrt:/# iwlist wlan0 channel

I tried also setting CONFIG_ATH_USER_REGD=y and rebuild, but in this way I have no wireless working...

Mostly a dupe of #9678 (see comment:19 there) But this looks weird:

ath5k: phy0: invalid tx power: 70

Thats normal. You have to build your image by your own and just use everything default, but activate "CONFIG_ATH_USER_REGD". Then the Atheros driver accept what you set in the regulatory and not just use the settings from EEPROM.

But you seem to use ath5k. So you can also use ath_info to set the Regulatory in the EEPROM and you dont need to make your own image.

Is it normal what? I'm building my own images, as I wrote in the main if I enable CONFIG_ATH_USER_REGD I have the "ath5k: phy0: invalid tx power: 70 / ath5k: phy0: failed to initialize PHY (-22) !" error message.

I think that could be quite simple to use channels permitted in own country, and this could be possible simply setting the correct country code
