#12929 new defect

extroot: kmod-usb-storage-extras not autoloaded before extroot starts

Reported by: michael <toxatec@…> Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: Trunk
Keywords: extroot Cc:

Description

I've been trying to set up extroot with a USB HDD but it only worked with a USB flash drive. I noticed that the kernel driver 'ums-cypress' from usb-storage-extras which I need for my external case will be loaded *after* the extroot procedure takes place, see this: http://pastie.org/6015189

I tried to find out who does the autoloading and I think it's /lib/functions/extmount.sh:
cp -L /etc/modules-boot.d/* /tmp/overlay/etc/modules-boot.d/* /tmp/extroot_modules/modules.d

So I created a file in /etc/modules-boot.d/ containing 'ums-cypress' and now it works. Nice!

There is 60-usb-storage-extras in /etc/modules.d/ but I guess it should be copied to /etc/modules-boot.d/ ?
