#12872 new defect

DLNA disconnect every 25-30 minutes.

Reported by: karmazin@… Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Component: other Version: Trunk
Keywords: DLNA, disconnect, media server Cc:

Description

In the trunk there is a problem (I think in any version after 12.09-rc1, I'm not sure. Oldest trunk that I used was a month ago) with DLNA. Using the following scheme:
Computer (media server) -> Wi-Fi or LAN -> SP3 or TV (with the player). When viewing music, movies, ... I get disconnect every 25-30 minutes.
When I use the 12.09-rc1, no such problem.

Problemmu really solve this?
I can provide all the necessary information.

Put this information:

  • Router model or, at least, target arquitecture.
  • Trunk revision of the image.
  • If you are using minidlna, ushare or other DLNA server.
  • If you can, attach a file with your router's dmesg when the crash happens.

This info is important because the problem could be an issue in your router in certain trunk revisions or the server you have installed.

Sorry

  1. TP-Link 1043ND
  2. Trunk of 22-Jan-2013 4:36. Yet returned to 12.09-rc1
  3. Other DLNA server: www.wildmediaserver.com
  4. "If you can, attach a file with your router's dmesg when the crash happens". Tell me how to do this?

Thx !

When I watched the dmesg. I have seen nothing to arouse suspicion. He is the same as in the 12.09-rc1. Maybe you can take a more detailed log?

Your fault. I'm using daily DLNA from trunk on wr1043nd and wdr3600 and they work just fine.

Working fine also for me on wdr3600!

These are two different router, although one firmware.
The problem in trunk at 12.09-rc1 fine.

You do not find strange the fact that the 12.09-rc1 works fine, but for trunk it does not work properly?

I have not found the cause of this problem :\

On my tl-wrd4300 it does the same thing. Also my xbox uses upnp to connect to xbox live account and it will disconnect at similar frequencies. I would guess those two are related.

The same problem on the PS3. PS account is disabled after a while.
On native firmware TP-Link is no such: \
It is also observed for 1043 and 4300.

I have same problem with WDR4300 using BB BE r36033

Exact same problem. Hope it will be addressed in the next build.

Same problem here with an TL-WDR4900 v1 router.

Just upgraded to 14.07-rc2 and started to experience this issue, no problems before with r36051.

It looks like inotify has some relation to this problem, since disconnects happen each inotify_interval, so increasing it can be used a workaround.
