Unable to install kernel related packages due to unsatisfied dependencies

Freshly installed OpenWrt:

root@MR3220:~# opkg update
root@MR3220:~# opkg list-upgradable
root@MR3220:~# opkg install openvpn
Installing openvpn (2.2.2-2) to root...
Collected errors:

  • satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for openvpn:
  • kernel (= 3.3.8-1-5440da3a2c45184a32da6bba25b8dd2a) *
  • opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package openvpn.

The same with any other kernel reladed package, eg.strongswan.

Did you compile your own build? If so, you can't install kernel module packages from the download site because they depend on the kernel config. Include them in your own build and reflash.

Hi, same problem here. Using OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment 12.09
In my case, I didn´t compile my own build; Seems to be a problem with 12.09 and curlftp package.

and what package does it depend on? please post raw command output instead of just vague descriptions
