#12838 accepted defect

Buttons don't work on DIR-320 rev. A2 (brcm47xx) in trunk

Reported by: Noel Maersk <veox@…> Owned by: hauke
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: buttons, gpio, diag, hotplug Cc:

Description

Using r35184, there are no hotplug events for buttons. Tried editing /etc/hotplug2.rules as in documentation, same result.

Echoing to /proc/diag/led/<led> works.

Used to work with a half-year old revision (don't know exact number). Here's what changed: Trac comparison between r26775 and current

Also, unable to enter failsafe during preinit.

Will test now with DEBUG_GPIO in kernel.

Obviously DEBUG_GPIO didn't help, reverted that (using default kernel config now).

Also, I can't get preinit debug messages on the network. Tried setting CONFIG_TARGET_PREINIT_IFNAME to eth0.1 or eth0, neither worked. (Through make menuconfig, of course.) All that goes to the network is four UDP packets with destination port 4919.

Tried entering failsafe by pressing either of the two buttons available. Tried pressing both.

Kernel module diag is loaded, tried adding button-hotplug and other modules with "button" in them, neither case worked.

Anyone else has this with recent revisions from trunk?

Does this problem still occur in recent trunk?

I won't be able to test any time soon. The router is now installed at a remote location.
