#12570 closed defect (wontfix)

ddns script uses http for providers that allow https

I see that the ddns scripts have some https support but I couldn't find a way to enable it through the configuration file only. For I had to:

  1. edit /usr/lib/ddns/services changing url to https
  2. install wget with https support
  3. create an /etc/ssl/certs directory according to
  4. configure and run service as normally

setting these in ddns config did NOT make the script use curl:

option cacert '/etc/ssl/certs'
option use_https '1'

I think the whole https thing needs fixing so setting use_https in config would change url to https automatically. This should be enabled by default for supported providers for obvious security reasons.

Enabling by default is no option since the required libopenssl is way too big to become a default dependency.
