updatedd / dyndns updating the ip when that's not changed.

updatedd is already packaged.

I didn't get it why it's invalid.
The updated (with updatedd-mod-dyndns) daemon updates dyndns records every 2 hours regardless of ip changes.
This is against policy of dyndns service and that's why your openwrt device will be baned for the abuse.
Here is the message from a log file:
Jan 2 20:00:31 OpenWrt user.notice syslog: xxx.homeip.net: No changes, update considered abusive.

Please consider fixing it.

The bug is with the updatedd program, and in my opinion it's a useless package.

See http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=51318 for a discussion of using hotplug+wget as an alternative.

I'm using http://x-wrt.org/ and it installs updatedd with a specific package for each dyn dns server via web interface. Sounds right to me, it just has comply with policy for each service. Ok, switching back to ez-ipupdate for now ... :\
