TI AR7 (Netgear DG834Gv2) - enabling wireless stops router from responding on all network interfaces

Reported by: enopatch@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

I've just compiled trunk revision 33618 (kernel 3.3.8, wpad-mini 20120910-1). Everything is good until I enable the wireless interface (acx-mac80211) - after about 30 seconds, the whole router stops responding on either the wireless or the ethernet interfaces.

Unfortunately, logread produces nothing of value, so I don't have any logs to append to this bugreport. I've spent some time trying to get some useful information to add to this report, but I can't seem to get anything meaningful. There are no strange kernel messages or anything similar - the router just refuses to respond at all about 30 seconds after I bring the wireless interface up. I'm at a complete loss as to what I can do to debug this further (do I need to add a serial interface to my router?)

I've set the faulty component as "Kernel" but I'm not sure about this (could this be a problem with hostapd?)

Sorry I don't have any more info. Feel free to request stuff and I'll provide what I can.

Could you please try r33624 or later. I fixed an issue with acx-mac80211 in that commit.

Thank you, hauke. You have fixed the problem. r33624 (including acx-mac80211) now works perfectly on my Netgear DG834Gv2. Thanks again. :-)
