Problem with hostapd + mac80211 when hopping between multiple PSK2 encrypted SSIDs on same radio

Reported by: jon.boyce@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: hostapd, mac80211 Cc:

I'm not sure if this is a bug or desired behaviour.

I have a atheros target using the ath5k/mac80211 driver running with 3 SSIDs with PSK2 encryption bridged to the LAN. Upon start up I can connect to any of the SSIDs fine, when I attempt to connect to the next SSID it will not connect until the ap_handle_timer routine for STA_DEAUTH has run after my disassociation.

When this happens, I can see the following error in the hostapd debug output:

Could not set station xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx flags for kernel driver (errno=124).

If I add the STA_DEAUTH code from the ap_handler_timer directly at the end of ieee802_11.c:handle_disassociate without setting up the timer, I can connect to any of them and the errors go away.

Also, I've notice that this behavior is only applicable to SSIDs with encryption, SSIDs with no encryption do not suffer from this.
