#12074 closed defect (fixed)

WRT54GL broken (resetting to default, no ssh)

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: Trunk
Keywords: wrt54gl shadow reset default sysupgrade passwd jffs Cc:

Description

Something broke somewhere between trunk r33200 and r33212.
After upgrading with "sysupgrade -v -c /tmp/image.trx" (v=verbose, c=preserve all changes in /etc) from r33200 to r33212 all changes in /etc got deleted for some reason.

So the router is now at 192.168.1.1 at default settings.
When trying to telnet into the router and use "passwd", the password gets set in "/etc/passwd" (not in "/etc/shadow" (is that a problem?)) but I still have no access via SSH.
After rebooting, JFFS resets itself and uses the default settings again.

I tried this with the latest trunk snapshot (r33212) on one router and also with a self-compiled trunk image (r33262) on ANOTHER router.
Both routers got these issues after upgrading to r33212.

I tried again with attitude_adjustment 12.09-beta and now it works. I have no idea why it works (I didn't saw any changeset that could be repsonsible for this) but it "magically" does.
If anybody knows at which point this got fixed, please tell me.

tl;dr Everything works now. Please close this ticket.
