MTD Chip Change on UBNT products

Reported by: enrico@… Owned by: juhosg
Priority: lowest Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: 10.03.1
Keywords: Cc:

Description

JFFS2 based images are no longer working on the entire range of new Ubiquiti M hardware (pico nano bullet etc.. )

I tried the jffs2 and the squashfs image from backfire stable and the jffs2 image that works on previously purchased units no longer works on the new units

Below is a log of the dump from serial console. It appears as if the MTD chip was changed from

m25p80 spi0.0: mx25l6405d (8192 Kbytes)

to

m25p80 spi0.0: s25fl064k (8192 Kbytes)

Yes, seems that we must generate images for different eraseblock sizes.
It is low priority though as we do not really support jffs2 root images and squashfs ones are blocksize agnostic.
