#11941 assigned defect

(BCM947xx) kernel panic under high network load

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: hauke
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

I'm experiencing extremely unstable work both on trunk and backfire versions under high network load (wan->lan). Also, networking speed is poor compared to 2.4 kernel. I think a problem can be related to high cpu usage and as a consequence high temperature of the processor; also router gets comletely unresponsible under load even on serial console.

Same problem on wrt54gl but for me is normal because 200Mhz processor is slow for kernel 3.x ...
Model of your router?

Have you tried building from trunk with broadcom-wl driver instead of b43? This should probably eliminate wireless instability. However, on my dir-320 I can't connect to wifi when this driver is used.
