#11861 closed defect (wontfix)

Package 'aiccu' version 20070115-10 installation incomplete

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: lowest Milestone: Bugs Paradise
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: aiccu 20070115-10 Cc:

Description

Problems:

  1. 'aiccu' version 20070115-10 now claims to depend on 'libc' and 'libpthread' only. But in fact like the former versions it continues to also depend on 'ip', 'kmod-tun' and 'kmod-sit'. So unless those additional packages are installed manually, 'aiccu' version 20070115-10 won't work.
  1. After installation of 'aiccu' version 20070115-10 (within the latest firmware r32689 - 14.07.2012 downloaded from /snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/) there is no start/stop script '/etc/init.d/aiccu'. Hence 'aiccu' can't be started the common way via '/etc/init.d/aiccu' using the uci config file '/etc/config/aiccu'. Instead 'aiccu' must be started manually by creating a suitable config file '/etc/aiccu.conf' (format different from '/etc/init.d/aiccu') and then typing 'aiccu start'.

for reasons for removing the start/stop script take a look here:

I don't know why commit #32666 removed the dependencies on ip, kmod-sit and kmod-tun.

I read the whole ticket and switched to tunnel-broker.net :-) Since then I had fewer problems, with aiccu I sometimes had tunnels that stopped working, a restart of aiccu was enough to repair it. tunnelbroker.net is better integrated into openwrt, you don't need a binary or start/stop script.
