I tried to compile vtun from trunk with ssl support enabled, but it failed with a not found error :

configure: checking for md5 Library and Header files ... ...
checking "for md5.h"... "no"
configure: error: SSL headers not found.

I guess there is a type in the patch wich comes with this ticket :

 $(if $(CONFIG_VTUN_SSL),--with-ssl-headers="$(STAGING_DIR)/usr/lib/",--disable-ssl) \

should be

$(if $(CONFIG_VTUN_SSL),--with-ssl-headers="$(STAGING_DIR)/usr/include/openssl",--disable-ssl) \
