I also live in Israel and I have the same problem.
Please Solve this problem with the time zone for Israel.

ACK, so I'm not alone with this....
I investigated it, it seems like in the LuCI sources, build/ doesn't parse /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Jerusalem and skips it (among with a couple of others).
I'll create a ticket in LuCI and work on fixing it.

Please refer to the LuCI issue tracker, as this is an issue with LuCI, therefore it should be discussed there.
I created a ticket there
and also posted on the LuCI mailinglist, I hope we'll figure out how to fix that asap.

Here is the rule for Jerusalem Timezone:
DST starts at 02:00 the last Friday before April 2nd (i.e. the last Friday in March or April 1st itself if it falls on a Friday) and ends at 02:00 on the Saturday night (i.e. Sunday morning) before the fast of Yom Kippur.
Practical instructions:
DST on: first Friday of April on/before day 1. This will also get the correct Friday if it is in March.
DST off: find Tishrei 10 in the Hebrew calendar, find the corresponding Gregorian date and trace backwards to the first Sunday 02:00h.

DST rule name	Valid	on/off	Date Time	Offset
Zion 2011	on	Apr 1 2:00	1:00

Rules have been updated (now more simple): IDT (Israel Daylight Saving Time i.e. Jerusalem Time) begins on the Friday before the last Sunday of March (last Friday on/before day 29 of March) at 02:00 AM, and ends on the last Sunday of October at 02:00 AM.

Ticket should be closed.
Asia/Jerusalem was included in the timezone info update (2014i) in both trunk and luci-0.12.

on wdr4300 - version Barrier Breaker 14.07 / LuCI Trunk (0.12+svn-r10530)
still no Asia/Jerusalem
if I am editing the TZ via "vi" in shell - replacing gmt0 to ist-2idt
it work fine untill a restart to machine

It is there in the current trunk and in the current BB14.07/luci-0.12 head, but it is not in the old BB14.07 release version.

If you want it to your old BB14.07, you can either:

  • build the firmware from the current BB 14.07 head
  • copy the two files (tzdata.lua and tzoffset.lua) manually to /usr/lib/lua/luci/sys/zoneinfo in your router.

thank you very much !
I copied both files to the directory mentioned
Now I have the "Asia/Jerusalem" option
but the "IST-2IDT,M3.4.4/26,M10.5.0" is not working - seeing UTC
when manually changing to "IST-2IDT" I got the good time as supposed to be
