Description

Hi,

I have a Display Link USB powered monitor that I'd like to be able use with a device running OpenWRT. Would it be possible to add the udlfb kernel module to OpenWRT?

Some details about Display Link USB devices under Linux are at:

http://libdlo.freedesktop.org/wiki/

Just in case it matters, I have one of these:

http://www.mimomonitors.com/products/mimo-710-s

I've plugged it into the USB port on my TP-LINK MR3020 running OpenWRT. It powered up, however as the udlfb module is not available, there was not video output. I think these sorts of small, USB powered monitors could be useful as status etc. displays for OpenWRT devices with a USB port.

Details about Display Link are at:

http://www.displaylink.com/index.php

Thanks.

Here's something that will give you a good start at udlfb use. I haven't tried it on anything other that my ALiX 3D3 so IMMV. Save the attached framebuffer.mk file in package/kernel/modules directory. Run 'make menuconfig' - You will then find the new "Kernel modules -> Framebuffer Support" menu items.
