PS Pro Latest trunk, no network

Reported by: gusz Owned by: developers

Description

I have a Ubiquiti RS Pro which has been running OpenWRT Backfire OK for some time. I installed /snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-rspro-squashfs-factory.bin, still OK. I did a sysupgrade to /snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-rspro-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin, so I'm now running ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT (bleeding edge, r30919.

After the (sys)upgrade, no networking. If I do "swconfig dev ethX help" I get "Failed to connect to the switch", and if I try to ping a well known IP I get "Network is unreachable"

The RS Pro is connected to a lan port (192.168.1.1) on my my main router, which is a Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H, also running latest trunk. There are no other problems on the Buffalo. I've tried both lan and wan ports on the RS Pro, in each case setting static RS Pro's static ip to 192.168.1.20, and gateway to 192.168.1.1. I've tried various /etc/config/network files, including that below, same result. ifconfig is also shown below.

Can someone tell me what would cause "Failed to connect to the switch", and/or if this could be a defect in the latest sysupgrade bin?

I can't get wan to work either .... Gus

I figured out that in newer trunk in /etc/config/network the switch is called switch0 and the correct is eth1.

switch0 should be an alias for eth1. If you invoke "swconfig dev eth1 help" it should show something like "switch0: eth1(AR...) ..."

You are right, eth1 and switch0 are working now, dont know what happened but now it works. Im using switch0 now and will see if it happen again.
