#11169 assigned defect

Real time traffic graphs missing for pppoatm interfaces

Reported by: dwmw2@… Owned by: jow
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

I have a recent build of Trunk on a Traverse Geos, with two PPPoATM interfaces (pppoa-ppp0 and pppoa-ppp1).

Those devices aren't listed in the Traffic tab at /admin/status/realtime/bandwidth/ though. But if I manually go to admin/status/realtime/bandwidth/pppoa-ppp0 I *do* get a graph. It seems to be only the index of available interfaces that's wrong.

As a temporary hack, I commented out the netmod:register_pattern_virtual() call at the bottom of model/network/proto_ppp.lua.

What exactly is the definition of a "virtual" device, in this context, and why would anyone think that "virtual" means I don't want to see bandwidth graphs for it?
