Wrong LuCI Wifi Indication with uci set wifi...disabled=0

Reported by: anonymous Owned by:
Priority: response-needed Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: luci Version: Backfire 10.03.1 RC6
Keywords: wireless disabled Cc:

A wifi-device can be disabled using a uci setting like "uci set wireless.@wifi-iface[0].disabled=1". Vice-versa to enable the command "uci set wireless.@wifi-iface[0].disabled=0" should work. (The wifitoggle package is going this way.)

Unfortunately the "disabled=0"-setting works only correct for the hardware-part but indication in LuCI still shows an inactive device until the complete setting is deleted (uci delete wireless@wifi-iface[0].disabled).

  • Priority changed from normal to response-needed

What indication are you talking about? A simple "uci set wireless.radio0.disabled=0" does not reveal any problem for me.

Needed to setup my router again (Backfire 10.03.1) and came across the same problem again.

Using "uci set wireless.@wifi-iface[0].disabled=1" to disable wifi device works fine and the status indication on luci webpage is ok - "disabled".

Using "uci set wireless.@wifi-iface[0].disabled=0" to enable wifi device works fine BUT the status indication on luci webpage is wrong - it's still showing "disabled".

This behaviour can be fixed somehow by using "uci delete wireless.@wifi-iface[0].disabled" to enable the wifi but it would be a good thing if for the webpage the setting "wireless.@wifi-iface[0].disabled=0" would be interpreted as "enabled" and not "disabled".

This is already fixed in later version, the upcoming 12.09 release will contain it.
