Description

Hi,

I bough four USB webcam I though to use with the last OpenWRT Backfire 10.03.1. I though to use it for motion detection I succeed with the last of them.

But as I saw all the driver was natively available for the bough USB webcam I though Backfire was able to recognized the USB connected webcam.

It was not the case when I checked them with those command lines :

  • check if a new /dev was created (not ok for the undetected listed here below)
  • checked with a dmesg|grep usb to see if something new appeared when I connected those three webcam (nothing appears)
  • I checked it with lsusb (nothing new appeared when the USB webcam was connected)
  • I even installed the needed driver for each connected USB Webcam (well known as supported linux webcam) and available as packages on OpenWRT Backfire 10.03.1 => nothing changed

Then I ask you if you can solve this situation for the natively unsupported USB webcam where the driver are available on Backfire 10.03.1. Here are the three I tested (as said : well known as supported in linux and for which the drivers are avalaible on Backfire) :

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 093a:2468 Pixart Imaging, Inc. Cammaestro 2.5DU/X-EYE/Orite SC-120/ICGear TravelCam/Easy Snap Snake Eye Webcam

Bus 002 Device 005: ID 0c45:6009 Microdia VideoCAM ExpressII

Bus 002 Device 006: ID 046d:08f0 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Messenger

Or please make a updated list of all the natively supported USB webcam because I needed to buy four to finally find one of them that could be used with Backfire.

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day,

Miguipda ;-)
