Problems authenticating to WPA (PSK+AES) on WR841N

Description

I experience multiple times problems trying to connect to my router from a distance of around 10-20meters because of authentication problems.

The log reads:
"OpenWrt daemon.notice hostapd: wlan0: STA MAC:ADDRESS IEEE 802.11: did not acknowledge authentication response"

The router is using 802.11g and psk+aes.
The same problem doesn't happen obviously when I use no encryption at all or WEP.

The computer is sometimes able to connect after many tries (20+) or isn't able to connect at all.
