#10909 closed defect (duplicate)

Wan port (0) doesn't work

Reported by: iceslice Owned by: juhosg
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: Trunk
Keywords: tp-link wr1043nd Cc: sergey.i.salishiv@…

Router: tp-link wr1043nd v1
After update from stock 111122 and later wan port (port 0) is permanently disabled, making wan inoperable.

Following workaround worked for me:

uci set network.@switch_vlan[0].ports="2 3 4 5t"
uci set network.@switch_vlan[1].ports="1 5t"

The new bootloader included in recent stock firmware disables WAN port as soon as possible in order to prevent switch from working as unmanaged switch and therefore freely pass packets between LAN and WAN (see Ticket #6819). And then the stock firmware re-enables WAN port somehow (I guess it outputs 1 or 0 to certain GPIO pin which is connected to physical layer schematics of WAN port).
