#10769 closed defect (worksforme)

readethers ignored

Reported by: DanSF Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: readethers Cc:

Description

I've tried including "option readethers 1" in /etc/config/dnsmasq. But each time I reboot my /etc/hosts and /etc/ethers files are removed.

So I switched to using "config host" sections in /etc/config/dhcp. This works, and it's stable across reboots. But when I select Network>DHCP and DNS or Network>Hostnames under Luci, I get an exception:

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:449: Failed to execute cbi dispatcher target for entry '/admin/network/dhcp'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/cbi.lua:264: Unable to read UCI data: dhcp
stack traceback:

[C]: in function 'assert'
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:449: in function 'dispatch'
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194>

That means you introduced a syntax error in /etc/config/dhcp, use the command below to find the exact spot.

uci show dhcp >/dev/null
