#10695 closed enhancement (invalid)

request for an enhancement "ramdisk+jffs2"

Description

Hope not to botter anyone here about this.
I always used to compile squashfs or jffs2 rootfilesystems to be able to add new packages for squashfs onto the jffs2 left space, or to change, delete or to update packages onto full jffs2 images.
I have some troubles about the flash space because I would like to fill my personal selection of packages into it, and the firmware image doesn't respond well so I get "jffs2: Too few erase blocks" error, and generally the routers don't boot. Just using ramdisk the firmware image became lighter, the firmwares work fine until the needs to save settings...yes: nospace on the flash for saving setting, but I know that the real left space is bigger then before. So is there any possibility to use the flash free space to add an jffs2 device for saving? I mean like squashfs+jffs2 works togheter.
